 Welcome to The PSJA Sotomayor, Alamo, and Buckner Building Blocks Academy Libraries!

Hello, I am Dalina Cavazos, Librarian at PSJA Building Blocks Academy.  I have been a librarian for PSJA for 19 years. My educational teaching experiences is over 34 years.  I love bringing new ideas for learning to our students.

At Building Blocks Academy, our vision is to provide a robust and sustainable high-quality early childhood education that meets the unique needs of the whole child.  Our campus goal is to increase kindergarten readiness, capacity, and access to high-quality Pre-K Programs. 

In our libraries, we advocate for our students to be active in campus library activities as well as district library events, such as the summer reading program. 

At our library you will:

• discover an array of new and exciting books.  
• participate in storytime and interactive play.
•  recognize the possibilities that are open due to the love of reading.

 
LIBRARY HOURS :

All classes are seen on a library schedule.  

Library is open at Sotomayor - Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.

                                  Buckner - Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:25 pm                                  

                                  Alamo -  Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:15 p.m.

LITERACY NIGHTS:

Literacy nights are posted on the school Calendar via Class Dojo. The take place from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

TAKE OUR READING CHALLENGE:

Currently children are logging in minutes read in the Beanstack Program are being discussed with teachers.  Teachers and the librarian are logging in minutes of reading during the school day. Please help our child reach his six weeks reading goal by logging in minutes read at home.   If you wish to learn more about the Beanstack program, ask your child's teacher or the librarian. We are here to help your child expand their educational reading goals.
